Frequently Answered Questions

Foreigners can register a company and own 100% of its shareholding in Singapore. However, they must appoint a local resident director or authorized representative to manage the company if they wish to continue to reside outside Singapore.

The local director or authorized representative must be a Singapore Citizen, Singapore Permanent Resident or an Employment Pass holder. They will have personal liability for the appointment.

Foreigners with EntrePass can register a company in Singapore themselves using Bizfile+. However, foreigners without EntrePass will need to engage the services of a registered filing agent to submit the application on their behalf.

The filing agent will also provide other services such as:

  • Provision of Company Secretary
