Who Can Apply For This Service?
Generally, visitors to Hong Kong should leave no later than the day that their limit of stay ends. There are special/urgent cases when visitors can stay longer, which is why there can be an online extension of stay once the remaining limit is within 14 days. Applications will get a chance according to their merit.
Keep in mind that the procedure needs time, so the application should be made online as soon as possible for the extension of the stay.
You will not be eligible to apply for this service if you meet the following conditions:
- if you are not physically in Hong Kong at the time of submission;
- you will not be in Hong Kong when your “e-Visa” will be collected.
- your limit of stay is going to expire in 3 days.
- your limit of stay has expired
- you were previously employed as a foreign domestic helper but is now permitted to change your condition of stay in order to stay in Hong Kong as a visitor.
- you would be staying in Hong Kong as Hong Kong’s non-permanent resident on the subject of the effect on employment or student residential status.
* Applicants who are not eligible for online application may submit applications to the Extension Section, 5/F, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai (Tel: (852) 2829 3100).

9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (Saturday)
Closed on Sundays and public holidays
Note:
(1) If the application for an extension of stay is authorized via this online service, the applicant can access the page through this link or download the ImmD Mobile Application for payment of the relevant fee via credit cards or through Payment by Phone Service (PPS). Following the successful processing of the payment, the applicant may download or print the PDF “e-Visa”. The applicant or their representative may also visit the Extension Section, 5/F of Immigration Tower at Wan Chai to make a payment with the exact amount of money and collect the “e-Visa”. If the applicant authorizes a representative to act on his behalf in making the payment, the representative is expected to show the identification document, an authorization letter, and the applicant’s original travel document together with the fee.
(2) It is against the law to provide wrong information ot lie to an immigration officer. A person will be deemed to have committed an offense under the Laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region whether or not knowingly provides a false statement or information that he/she knows to be false or believes to be not true. In that case, the visa/entry permit that has been previously issued or permission for entering or remaining in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will be invalid.

It should be noted that the applicant is expected to furnish a signature during the online application. In the case the applicant is younger than 16 years old, the form should be filled in and signed by the parent or legal guardian.
File Formats
The required documents will need to be scanned in one of the following formats before they can be uploaded.
File type: JPEG, PDF, GIF, PNG, or TIF (RAW, LZW, JPEG).
File size: Each file should not be more than 5 Mbytes.
Color depth: B & W (for documents with no pictures).
