Who Is Eligible For Online Application For Hong Kong Dependent Visa
This online service allows you to apply for a Hong Kong-dependent visa in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
The extension of stay applications is excluded from those online services. If needed, please apply through this link.
Hong Kong Dependent Visa Eligibility Criteria
For individuals admitted into the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) for employment, investment, training, or studies, or under various entry schemes such as the Capital Investment Entrant Scheme, the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme, the Top Talent Pass Scheme, among others, the following dependants may apply for residence:
- Spouse or legally recognized partner (including same-sex and opposite-sex civil partnerships, civil unions, or marriages recognized in the place of celebration).
- Unmarried dependent children under 18 years old.
For Hong Kong permanent residents or residents with no limit of stay, the eligible dependants are:
- Spouse or legally recognized partner (same-sex and opposite-sex as described above).
- Unmarried dependent children under 18 years old.
- Parents aged 60 or above.
Applications for dependant admission are generally considered favorably if:
- There is proof of a genuine relationship.
- The applicant has no negative records.
- The sponsor can support the dependant financially and provide suitable accommodation.
Additional conditions for dependants include holding a valid travel document, having no criminal record, and not being a potential burden on HKSAR. Eligibility criteria can change without prior notice.

The online application procedure demands that the applicant and the sponsor complete an online application form and sign to confirm this to warrant the accuracy, completeness, and faithfulness of the information provided during the online application process. For a child applicant who is aged below 16 years, the guardian or parent may be required to sign the online application form.
File Formats
The required documents need to be scanned in one of the following formats before you upload them:
File type: JPEG, PDF, GIF, PNG, or TIF (RAW, LZW, JPEG, CCITT-G4)
File size: For individual files, 5Mbytes or over.
Color depth: Greyscale (documents with no photos)
Color (for documents with photos)

When you are done with the preparation of your supplementary documents, you can access the online service at the following link.
Make sure you supply the correct information. Should the given information be inaccurate then your submission will not be considered valid.
Group Submission
The highest number of applications that can be forwarded in each group should not be more than nine. The program will direct you through the process of giving personal details of each applicant, as well as the documents required for the upload. If you fail to get the online submission confirmation upon the end of the process, you will have no option but to apply again.
Supplementary Document Submission
If your application for residence as a dependant is submitted, and you receive a supplementary materials request through the letter indicated by the Immigration Department, you can use this online submission service.
