Yes, you can change your company secretary in Australia. The process is relatively simple and can be completed online through the ASIC website. Here are the steps involved:
- The current company secretary must resign in writing. This can be done by sending a letter of resignation to the company directors or by completing ASIC Form 370 (Notification by Officeholder of Resignation or Retirement).
- The company directors must then appoint a new company secretary. This can be done by passing a resolution at a board meeting or by completing ASIC Form 484 (Change of Company Secretary).
- Within 28 days of the change, the company must lodge a copy of the resignation letter or Form 370 with ASIC, as well as a copy of the resolution appointing the new company secretary or Form 484.
